Zoomo sets sights on Scotland with Edinburgh launch in partnership with Deliveroo

04/05/2022

ZOOMO, the world leader for electric last-mile delivery vehicles, today announced its launch in Edinburgh in partnership with online food delivery company, Deliveroo. The announcement highlights another milestone for Zoomo, who have seen considerable success in the UK market following several successful funding rounds over the past 12 months, raising over AU$100m for its Series B.

The expansion into Edinburgh, in partnership with Deliveroo, supports both brands’ efforts to ramp up sustainability in the delivery sector and encourage a shift to greener transport alternatives.

The partnership will see Zoomo electric bikes subsidised for Deliveroo riders in Edinburgh by up to 80% for the first three months from sign up, offering riders accessible and sustainable transport around the city. The collaboration with Zoomo builds on Deliveroo’s commitment to offer riders more affordable, clean and efficient mobility options.

Zoomo meets these needs head-on by working with delivery partners to provide riders with safe, efficient and affordable e-bikes. Zoomo light electric vehicle solutions (LEVs) are purpose built for the delivery worker combining commercial grade components for optimum safety, on demand service, flexible financing and tech enabled security features.

In addition to this, a Zoomo e-bike saves an average of 5 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Andy Batty, UKI Operations Director, Deliveroo said: “I’m really excited to be in Edinburgh today to announce the partnership between Deliveroo and Zoomo. Launching the Zoomo collaboration will enable Deliveroo riders to navigate Edinburgh’s hilly terrain using market leading e-bikes, making it even easier to deliver great food all over Edinburgh. We hope that the introduction of world leading technology, along with compelling introductory offers, will appeal to both new and existing riders, supporting our significant growth in the city.”

Zoomo’s launch in Edinburgh marks its growing presence across the United Kingdom. An opportunity Nicolas De Juniac, UK General Manager, Zoomo, notes will be a game changer for Edinburgh’s bustling food delivery sector.

“We’re confident at Zoomo that Edinburgh will soon be known as the go-to destination for considered, modern transport. With its hills, cobblestone streets and dense cityscape, combined with an ambition to create cleaner cities via low emissions zones, we’re so excited to work with Deliveroo to play our part in helping Edinburgh realise its clean transport potential.”
