LUXURIOUS sightseeing experience SuperBus officially launched on Monday in Edinburgh, in a new venture from Souter Investments.
The high-end double decker coach will offer tours in Scotland’s capital, providing breath-taking views while guests enjoy quality afternoon tea and live commentary from a tour guide.
Managing director Scott Souter said there was a clear gap in the market for a tour offering “next level” comfort and luxury.
He said: “The SuperBus sightseeing coach is the biggest in the UK, allowing us to optimise the space on-board and create an experience that is truly unrivalled.”
“Modern mechanical spec ensures the smoothest possible drive for our customers while they relax in comfort and style, indulge in freshly-made afternoon tea and listen to commentary on a state-of-the-art sound system.”
The coach is a former sleeper bus which has undergone a first-class refurbishment, with 72cm-wide leather seating, ample leg room, generous spacing between seats and power sockets available, as well as having toilet facilities on board.
The tours, which will last between 1-1.5hours, begin at Waterloo Place and take in a range of highlights across Edinburgh including Scot’s Monument, the Meadows, Greyfriars Bobby Statue, Edinburgh Castle, the Grassmarket, the Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace.
On-board catering is provided by Perthshire-based Willows, a family business with 30 years’ experience.
Its team of chefs prepare the food daily, using local suppliers and an array of Scottish ingredients to create home-made savouries and sweet treats along with locally-roasted coffee.
Tours run three times a day (Monday to Saturday) at 11.30am, 2pm and 4.30pm. Adult tickets cost £34 for upper deck and £29 for lower deck, and children’s tickets cost £10. The coach is also available for private hire.
