DUMFRIES and Galloway College has donated £390 to BBC Children in Need.
The South of Scotland institution raised the cash via a series of childhood studies courses it offered in November.
The courses were chosen to help students increase their awareness and skills in dealing with childhood illnesses.
The subjects offered as part of the series were Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health, Understanding Childhood Illnesses, Certificate in Understanding Autism, and Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges.
Students were charged a £10 booking fee that was collected and donated to the charity.
Dumfries and Galloway College is proud to play its role in supporting those caring for children, fulfilling its duty as a corporate parent, and of working with BBC Children in Need to help make life better for kids across the country.
Principal Joanna Campbell said:
“BBC Children in Need is a cause close to all of our hearts and I’m extremely proud that we’ve managed to raise this sum. Moreover, to have raised it by offering courses that will have equipped our students to better support the young people in their lives is wonderful.
“Our college is proud to have partnered with Children in Need and looks forward to working with them again in the future.”
