There are less than 5 days to go till the launch of Scotland’s first internet radio station for health and wellbeing, which will broadcast across the UK, USA and North America.

Wellbeing Radio, which has been developed in Fife, will go live on 12 noon on Wednesday, 1 January 2020, with a packed schedule of programmes designed to promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Listeners in Scotland, the UK and across the pond will be able to tune in 24 hours a day to hear health and wellbeing advice from leading experts, talk shows and discussions, interviews, ancient yogic wisdom, meditation and relaxation techniques, mindful children’s stories and more.

The new station will broadcast across the UK, USA and Canada and feature a line-up of carefully selected presenters from around the world who are experts in their chosen fields. They include seasoned broadcaster and voiceover artist JJ Stenhouse, who is based in Fife; clinical psychologist Dr Sarah Madagan, who will present a weekly Loved Up on Life programme, and French-born Radical Rest Yogi Sophie Leon, who is an expert in rest and relaxation.

The station’s flagship programme will be Wake Up the Right Way, a breakfast show presented by Zen yoga teacher and Wellbeing Radio co-founder Scott Hutchison-McDade and friends between 7 and 9am every weekday. The show will be preceded by a half-hour Rise & Shine meditation between 6.30 and 7am.

The schedule is also set to include a Holistic Scotland Hour delivered by Holistic Scotland Magazine, which is Scotland’s only natural health and wellbeing title.

The show, which will broadcast every evening between 8 and 9pm from 7 January, will be an extension of the magazine, offering even more of its natural health and wellbeing content, which is already consumed by circa 35,000 readers throughout Scotland and in the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA.

Other scheduled programmes include Music for the MindThe Beauty Detective and Nature Therapy & Beyond.

Co-founder and broadcasting director Scott Hutchison-McDade said: “I’m excited to present Scotland’s first multimedia platform for health and wellbeing. After nearly a year in the making, I’m really pleased to see it come to fruition.

“After launching Scotland’s first healing sound therapy to combine silent disco technology with binaural beats earlier this year, it seems like a natural progression.

“Please check out the website for lots of insightful health and wellbeing articles and don’t forget to tune in on January 1.”

Listeners will be able to instruct Alexa to “Play Wellbeing Radio” and can listen online, on-the-go or on demand from January 1 by visiting the website www.wellbeingradio.co.uk
