DALBEATTIE-based IT firm, ETB Technologies, has raised over £6,000 having completed a year-long fundraising challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, exceeding its initial £5,000 target.

ETB Technologies handed over £6,120 to Bruce Port, Relationship Fundraising Manager of Scotland South and West at Macmillan Cancer Support on the 11th December at their office in Edingham, Dalbeattie.

Throughout the year, employees took part in a series of fundraising events across Scotland including a charity football match at Iselcroft Stadium, a sponsored 10,000ft skydive above St Andrews, and a coffee morning at Dalbeattie Town Hall.

Eight members of the ETB team also participated in a Tough Mudder challenge, raising almost £3,000 of the overall fundraising target.

The money raised will go towards supporting Macmillan’s mission to help those with cancer live life as fully as they can by providing physical, financial and emotional support.

ETB Technologies managing director Nick Stapleton said: “We don’t like to do things by half, so when we decided to raise money for a charity, we had an ambitious target in mind. Being able to see the team knock that target out of the park is something everyone is proud of.

“Giving back to the community has become an integral part of our culture at ETB and it’s encouraging to see the team’s enthusiasm towards these kinds of initiatives. The success of this year’s fundraiser is a reflection of the team’s dedication to supporting such an incredible and worthy organisation.”

Bruce Port, Relationship Fundraising Manager for Scotland South and West at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “On behalf of everyone at Macmillan, we want to express our gratitude to the ETB team, as well as anyone who has donated in any way, for going above and beyond to support our organisation.

“Without these donations, Macmillan Cancer Support wouldn’t be able to reach the growing number of people who rely on our support, and it is your generosity that allows us to do what we do. These funds will allow us to continue supporting those living with cancer and enhance our mission to find even better ways of helping people who need our support.”
