TSUNAMI Axis, a leading European commercial furniture dealer, has been chosen by one of the largest and most influential design companies in the world to be its only certified furniture dealer in Scotland.

MillerKnoll has decided to make Tsunami Axis one of the first few approved dealers within Europe able to access the full range of its sought-after interior brands.

This new agreement means that Tsunami Axis in Scotland will be able to offer clients a whole range of innovative products, thus opening up new markets.

The US furniture giant Herman Miller acquired seminal design brand Knoll in July last year, expanding its global reach worldwide.

Independently, the US brands were two of the most prominent names in modern design, with histories dating back to 1938 in the case of Knoll and 1905 for Herman Miller.

MillerKnoll has a presence in more than 100 countries around the world, with 64 showrooms worldwide, more than 50 physical retail locations and multi-channel global e-commerce capabilities.

Tsunami Axis will now be able to draw upon these much sought-after resources for its rapidly growing client base.

Tsunami Axis, established in London in 1999, opened in Edinburgh in 2010 and in Glasgow in 2020. This year sees the addition of new offices and showrooms in Manchester and Cambridge.

The company has seen considerable growth since 2017, expanding operations across mainland Europe with new offices and showrooms in Frankfurt and Luxembourg.

In Scotland the growing team works across a range of sectors providing specialist design support and furniture solutions to a range of global companies with a presence in Scotland, from legal to engineering firms, for instance, to an increasing number of burgeoning tech companies.

Tsunami Axis Ltd has seen its revenues increase to in excess of £50m and £60m as a group, with both increased profitability and net worth gains.

Aidan Robertson, Director UK North at Tsunami Axis, explained: “Although we have been working with, what was, Herman Miller for a number ofsuccessfulyears, it was by no means guaranteed that we would have such a strong relationship with the company after its acquisitionof Knoll and subsequent expansion.”

“For Tsunami Axis to be selected as one of only a few MillerKnoll certified dealers and indeed the the only one within Scotland is a testament to our staff and our service provision, which we are very proud of.”

“In practical terms, this will allow us to move into other markets, education being a key target. Through MillerKnoll our clients will have access to a range of dynamic brands specially chosen to help people work more effectively and productively.”

Jawad Khan, Head of Channel Development at MillerKnoll said:

“Herman Miller, now MillerKnoll, and Tsunami Axis have a history of successfully completing numerous projects for large global corporates and national companies.”

“We continue to be impressed by Tsunami Axis and the lengths to which the team in Scotland goes to ensure the workplace needs of clients are fully understood and met.”

“Our values are similar, and we are looking forward to working together even more closely through this strategic partnership.”
