Procurement start-up, The Service Directory is on track to achieve monthly turnover of £1 million following new business wins across a number of sectors.

The Glasgow based company has secured deals with major, UK-wide businesses, including Meallmore and Runwood care home groups, along with softplay and leisure group Gambado. The Service Directory is now on course to provide its procurement services to 1,500 clients by the end of the year.

The Service Directory founder, Gary Maitles, said “Wining business from these national groups confirms The Service Directory as a disruptor in the procurement market and shows that clients are becoming increasingly confident in the service and results delivered by the bespoke, web-based system we have developed in-house.

“Since launch in 2013 The Service Directory has grown year-on-year and these new clients come on board at an exciting time as we pursue our ambition to become one of the UK’s largest procurement groups. The addition of Meallmore, Runwood and Gambado means we are on track to achieve monthly turnover of £1 million, and we look forward to hitting that milestone achievement in 2020.

“Procurement may not be the most glamorous part of business but for our clients it is essential to their delivery. The Service Directory not only offers a bespoke service to meet each individual company’s needs, the feedback we are receiving is that our clients also see significant cost and operational savings. As these new client wins show, this is a message that is resonating throughout the UK as we increasingly see independent and national groups make the decision to move their purchasing business to The Service Directory.”

The Service Directory’s innovative web-based platform removes the complexity of purchasing, giving clients’ one point of contact for any product or service. The bespoke system, created by an in-house team of developers, is designed to let customers manage budgets and track spending across multiple categories.

Meallmore’s finance director, Gavin Mackenzie said: “Meallmore has developed a relationship with The Service Directory over the past few years and increasingly rely on them for our purchasing. We find their system excellent and easy to use.”

Gareth Bulloch, operations manager at Gambado, said: “Working in a challenging sector means we welcome any system that makes our ordering processes more efficient. The Service Directory has streamlined this for us, ensuring we not only save time but also money.”
