Ryan McKay and Claire Ogston

Blackadders LLP has boosted its Aberdeen Residential Property team by recruiting Claire Ogston as its new Director.

Claire has more than 17 years’ experience in residential property and is an expert in the Aberdeen market having been born, raised and educated in the city. She is joining Blackadders from Ledingham Chalmers.

Claire said: “I am really pleased to be joining Blackadders at such a positive time for the firm. I am very much looking forward to becoming part of such an ambitious and proactive firm.”

The Residential Property Team operates across all of Blackadders’ offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. With a presence across Scotland, the team’s local insight and experience helps clients with the best possible service, providing all the information needed to make the right choice whether they are buying or selling property. The team routinely works at short notice, to tight deadlines and to a very high standard.

Ryan McKay, Joint Managing Partner, said: “Claire is already proving to be a fantastic addition to the Aberdeen team and we look forward to her being able to raise the firm’s performance and profile with her incredible knowledge of the sector and the area.”

Launched in October, the Blackadders’ rebranding is one of several new initiatives by the board over the last 18 months. It is all part of the firm’s 5 by 25 strategy which aims to ensure the firm is well placed to benefit from any sustained upturn in the economy.

The five initiatives the firm is aiming to achieve by the end of the 2025/26 financial year are:

·       Increase turnover to £25 million

·       Achieve a profit margin of 35%

·       Be regarded as an employer of choice in the industry

·       Act as a destination lawyer for clients

·       Secure Blackadders’ position as a top five Scottish law firm.

Good progress has been made on all five initiatives and the board is confident of meeting its targets.
