TLT has added two new practice areas – banking & finance and corporate & commercial – to its Scotland rankings in the legal industry’s prestigious directory, the Legal 500.

The firm has particular expertise in banking and finance having been involved in a large number of complex and high value transactions and projects for its clients. This includes work not only in the corporate banking space, but also in energy project finance and real estate.

The Scotland licensing team has also retained its Tier 1 ranking and the full complement of TLT’s licensing lawyers is now recognised individually, with partner Caroline Loudon and associate Michael McDougall being named a ‘Leading Individual’ and ‘Rising Star’ respectively.

The breadth of TLT’s offering in Scotland is reflected in its rankings, which include eight practice areas and five individuals.

John Paul Sheridan, partner and location head for TLT in Scotland and a ‘Leading Individual’, says: “The team has grown considerably in recent years and has worked tirelessly to support our clients in these challenging times. It’s great to see this recognised by the Legal 500 and our clients.

“We are advising on increasingly complex and high profile matters in Scotland, and remain steadfastly committed to expanding our team and offering in response to client demand.”

TLT is ranked in 58 submission areas across England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in the 2021 directory. Nine lawyers are featured in the ‘Hall of Fame’, 25 as ‘Leading Individuals’, 14 as ‘Next Generation Partners’ and six as ‘Rising Stars’.

The firm reported revenues of £98.8m for the financial year 2019/20. With six offices across the UK, the firm continues to build scale in its specialist sectors including: clean energy; digital; financial services; leisure, food & drink; public sector; real estate; and retail & consumer goods.
