VSA’s ‘A Whole New World’ Ball raises over £120,000 for social care in Aberdeen

VSA, the social care charity supporting the people of Aberdeen & north-east Scotland, held its Best of Care ball, raising over £120,000. The evening was hosted by Scottish actor Jordan Young who stars in River City and Scots Squad, who also held the live auction proceedings.

VSA, the prominent social care charity dedicated to supporting the people of Aberdeen and north-east Scotland, hosted its annual Best of Care Ball on November 3, 2023, at the P&J Live. Themed ‘A Whole New World,’ the winter ball, generously supported by principal sponsor Ithaca Energy, immersed guests in an Arabian nights-inspired evening filled with exquisite food, captivating performances from a local dance troupe, and the lively tunes of party band Mad Hen. Scottish actor Jordan Young, known for his roles in River City and Scots Squad, graced the event as the host, overseeing live auction proceedings that contributed to raising an impressive total of over £120,000.

The enchanting night also featured a silent auction, heads and tails game, a ‘3-wishes’ tombola, and an opportunity to win a stunning £5,000 white gold and diamond necklace, generously donated by Finnies the Jeweller.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, Sue Freeth, CEO of VSA, highlighted the significance of the annual ball in sustaining the organization’s commitment to delivering top-tier care to Aberdeen and the North East. Freeth stated, “Our annual ball is one of our major fundraising events and enables us to continue to provide the best of care to the city of Aberdeen and the North East, changing the lives of many vulnerable children and adults. We are thrilled with the funds raised as a result of the event, kindly supported by Ithaca Energy, and would like to extend our thanks to everyone involved – from our board and team to our corporate supporters, guests, and volunteers. It really is a huge, combined effort which we work on across the year.”
