Promotions across Scotland as KPMG focuses on assisting clients through Covid-19 challenge

KPMG has invested in talent across its Scottish practice with the appointment of three new directors.

The promotions within the tax and audit teams are part of a wider commitment within the firm to invest in talent and innovation in Scotland, and support clients through the economic challenges created by the Coronavirus pandemic.

In Edinburgh, Craig Barrowman has been appointed director in the Tax and Legal team. He’s joined by tax director, Ruth Wallace in Glasgow, and Michelle Smarsh who is promoted to audit director in Aberdeen.

Commenting on his promotion, Craig, said: “It’s been an incredibly challenging period for the Scottish economy, but time and again, the business community has proved its resilience and KPMG has been a key part of that story, supporting companies with experience and insight.

“I’m proud to play my part in delivering on our strategy and helping our diverse range of clients get through the period of uncertainty that lies ahead, with an eye on ensuring long-term, sustainable growth.”

In addition to the new director appointments, Simon Smith has been promoted to associate director in Restructuring, based in Aberdeen, and Ed Monroe and Armen Balasanyan become audit managers in Edinburgh and Aberdeen respectively.
