Jane Clark-Hutchison has been elected as the new President of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.
An existing member of the chamber board, Clark-Hutchison has over 25 years’ experience in financial services, currently as Head of Client Relationships, Workplace Distribution at Scottish Widows, the insurance and wealth business of Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to this position, she was Head of the Large Corporate team at Bank of Scotland.
She was formally elected at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting and succeeds Scott Black, who held the post for four years.
Commenting on her appointment, Jane Clark-Hutchison said:
“I am delighted to take up this position as the new President of the Chamber and it will be a tough act to follow on from Scott. Edinburgh is one of the fastest growing and most productive cities in the UK, which brings us many benefits as well as fresh new challenges. These challenges, whether it is the future of infrastructure development, how we meet the ambitious goals laid out in the 2050 City Vision, or how we can become a truly socially inclusive city, are best met when the needs of businesses large and small are factored into the decision making process.
“As President, I will look to continue the progress made by the chamber in recent years, by championing businesses and the role they can play in creating a more socially inclusive and sustainable Edinburgh for us all.”
