- Steve Herkes, formerly of St James’ Place, will take the helm later this summer
- The investment arm of the leading Scottish law firm has also announced the appointment of four new financial advisers to support an ambitious growth strategy
GILSON Gray Financial Management (GGFM) LLP, the investment arm of Gilson Gray, one of Scotland’s most prominent law firms, has appointed Steve Herkes as its new managing director, continuing the firm’s string of 2021 hires.
Spearheading GGFM’s ambitious growth strategy, Steve will be responsible for the strategic direction of the business, including securing new business opportunities. He will also be directly involved in recruitment, as well as leading future merger and acquisition activity.
Steve joins GGFM from St. James’s Place where, as head of business and regional manager, he led its financial planning approach. He will work alongside current GGFM Managing Partner, Alastair Lindsay, who will direct his focus to client matters and into developing a niche private client offering further adding to the GGFM service range.

In addition to Herkes’ appointment, GGFM has also recently appointed four new financial advisors. Louise Brotherston, Nathan McDonald, Rebecca Baird and Greg Davie have each joined GGFM in recent months. With expertise ranging from financial wellness to pensions for private and corporate clients, each individual will bring unique insights and experiences to extend the firm’s reach and client base.
