FOLLOWING featuring in the hit 2023 BBC Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby series, Glenapp Castle, a 21-bedroom Relais & Chateaux and PoB Hotel in Ayrshire, is thrilled to confirm the episode will air again on BBC2 at 8pm on Thursday 9th May.

The only UK hotel in last year’s popular series, Glenapp Castle was chosen as a leading luxury hotel in a region that was becoming increasingly sought-after for luxury travellers. The show was a huge success and Glenapp Castle reported a record booking season, and an increase in international guests, with 65% of bookings coming from overseas last year. With the fantastic news that the show is re-running, the Glenapp Castle team are excited to welcome more global recognition and interest to this beautiful, yet lesser known, part of the world.

Jill Chalmers, Managing Director of Glenapp Castle, commented: “We’re very excited to see Glenapp Castle return to our screens on 9th May and are thrilled that the BBC has chosen to rerun this episode – the team had such fun and enjoyment hosting the BBC team during the filming. We have seen continuous momentum in bookings and interest following the initial airing last year; we are pacing well ahead in terms of bookings for our special Hebridean Sea Safari experience, and as the programme highlighted our magnificent penthouse suite, this has also seen an increase of bookings, not to mention a number of exclusive use bookings and celebratory events. We’re confident that this is largely due to our appearance on the episode. Of course, it’s also a joy to see our team’s hard work shown again in the rerun and to re-live such a fun project that we so enjoyed working on with the fabulous BBC team.”

The rerun will offer viewers another chance to follow celebrities, Monica Galetti and Rob Rinder as they experience the Castle’s historic interiors, explore the hotel’s impressive 110 acres of manicured lawns, local woodland and private estate, and embark on a magical boating adventure on The Hebridean Sea Safari – a unique experience where guests begin a seaborn adventure through the Scottish Hebrides on the Glenapp Castle RIB boat to the remote and beautiful island of Jura, that is also home to an Atlantic seal colony. Here, guests can find Glenapp Castle’s glamping site where guests are met by the hotel’s chef and concierge team who will cook food in the wilds before retreating to their African safari inspired tents.

The show also gives viewers an exclusive tour of the hotel’s impressive penthouse suite, The Endeavour – the largest suite in the whole of Scotland. The luxurious nature of the penthouse is conveyed as Rob looks out to the stunning and romantic views of Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. Situated at the very top of the castle, this penthouse really sets a new standard when it comes to refinement and luxury.

Monica and Rob also take part in various activities and experiences from Glenapp Castle’s 70+ activities and experiences programme, such as flower arranging and an address to the haggis; the team have noted that Rob’s address to the haggis was a real highlight and is often mentioned by guests when talking about the show!

The series, produced by BBC Studios, will rerun on BBC Two on 9th May at 8pm. For more information, please visit https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08l2m2x. To view the 2023 episode please click here.
