Restructuring and advisory firm, FRP Advisory LLP, has promoted Callum Carmichael to partner.

Based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, Callum has over 20 years of corporate restructuring and recovery experience across a wide range of industry sectors.  He joined FRP Advisory as a director in 2013 when the firm expanded into Scotland with the team headed by Tom MacLennan and Iain Fraser.

During his career Callum has managed a variety of high-profile administrations and restructuring cases across Scotland, many of which have resulted in going-concern sales, secured substantial numbers of jobs and resulted in significant creditor recoveries.

He has a strong understanding of Scottish business throughout the regions and sectors, and works with a wide network of lenders, investors and advisers.  Callum will play a key role developing FRP Advisory’s business, networks and client service across Scotland, and supporting appointments arising from within FRP Advisory’s wider UK business.

Commenting on his appointment he said: “I am very pleased to have been promoted to partner and look forward to helping develop and expand FRP Advisory’s business in Scotland.  We have an excellent team, almost all of whom have worked together since FRP Advisory launched in Scotland five years ago and in many cases for much longer. The market for restructuring and recovery services has changed dramatically in those years, and we are well-placed to provide clients with expert advice coupled with a focus on securing the best outcomes.”

Tom MacLennan, partner and head of FRP Advisory in Scotland added: “Callum’s promotion is well-deserved and we look forward to working with him as our third partner in Scotland. The ongoing market pressures on adviser conflicts have played to our strength of being a specialist advisory and restructuring practice, and we have seen encouraging growth in demand for our services.  Callum and the team in Scotland have been key to that success and we look forward to working together as we develop the firm further.”
