YOUNG footballers in Crieff are “absolutely over the moon” after receiving their first-ever kits thanks to the support of the area’s top leisure destination, Action Glen.
The outdoor adventure park – which forms part of Scotland’s iconic Crieff Hydro resort – has helped provide kits for 35 youngsters at Crieff Juniors Football Club.
The kits will be worn by players in the U-12 girls and the 2014 mixed teams for all matches.
Michael Crawford, manager of Action Glen, said: “We always want to show our support for the local community and what better way to do that than to sponsor Crieff’s footballing stars of the future.
“As soon as we heard neither team previously had their own kits to train or play in, we wanted to help out in any way we could.
“We’re proud to be supporting this fantastic community-run club and we can’t wait to watch these budding footballers take to the pitch in their brand-new kits.”
Alasdair Penman, vice chair and coach of the 2014 team at Crieff Juniors, added: “Our players are absolutely over the moon with their new kits.
“We had been looking for the right sponsor for a while and were keen to find one that was part of the community, so we were delighted that Action Glen agreed to partner with us.”
As part of the sponsorship deal, players in both squads will receive an end-of-season activity day at Action Glen free of charge to congratulate them for their hard work on the field.
The activity park is also sponsoring the ‘Fair Play’ trophies at the Annual Crieff JFC Football Festival which takes place next month (29-30 April 2023).
Michael added: “We’re also hoping to give each player a discount card, meaning the children can come to Action Glen and enjoy the huge range of activities on offer with their families, come rain or shine.”
