A contract set to deliver 23 social rent homes as part of a new development situated in South Queensferry has been concluded with work now well underway.
Cala Homes (East), in partnership with Wheatley Group, will deliver the homes as part of its Rosebery Wynd development which forms part of the Bridgewater Village masterplan development located between the approaches of the Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing.
The £4.3m project, including £2.4 million funding from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme and the City of Edinburgh Council, features one and two bedroom apartments and eight three bed terraced houses.
Derek Lawson, Strategic Land Director at Cala Homes (East), said: “Considering the economic challenges Scotland’s affordable housing sector has faced in the last year this is a welcomed delivery of new affordable homes.
“This marks another significant milestone in our commitment to delivering on the promises we made when we first began work in Queensferry.
“With the construction of these homes now well underway, our focus remains on ensuring the timely delivery of this phase, with completion scheduled for Q1 2026.
“These new homes will be a significant addition in addressing the demand for affordable housing in the local area.”

The recent works build on the success of the first phase of the nearby Queensferry Heights development, which delivered 19 homes to Manor Estates Housing Association (MEHA).
Cala Homes (East), in partnership with MEHA, is currently working on a second phase of 25 social rent homes, including 15 one- and two-bedroom apartments and 10 three-bedroom terraced houses.
