WEST Lothian packaging specialists Glenhaze have been backed by West Lothian Council in their bid to reduce their environmental impact and become net zero.

The council has awarded the Bathgate-based firm a grant of £8,500 towards a low-carbon, energy-efficient LED lighting project.

Glenhaze are a market-leading, high-end fitment manufacturer, who supply a comprehensive range of environmentally produced Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Accredited protective packaging solutions.

They serve a wide array of prestigious clients from their modern, purpose-built factory in Bathgate’s Whitehill Industrial Estate.

Depute Leader of West Lothian Council Kirsteen Sullivan, who visited Glenhaze recently, said “It was great to see a local business leading the way in working towards net zero and having a real focus on their environmental impact.

“I’m sure their continued investment within this area will see them continue to grow and provide more quality jobs for the residents of West Lothian.”

Operating in a niche area within the packaging industry, Glenhaze constantly work to create new, lighter and sustainable solutions through their state-of-the-art innovative design process.

Their leading-edge computer aided design-controlled system enables them to rapidly create prototypes that are fit for purpose.  Their high-tech multimillion-pound specialist equipment maximises manufacturing excellence and efficiency to deliver on quality.

All of their products are 100% recyclable and are sourced through their chain of custody FSC accredited network. They are also International Standards Organization (ISO) 14001 environmental, ISO 9001 Quality Management protocol accredited and are a member of the Living Wage Foundation.

Gary McCulloch, MD of Glenhaze added: “We have worked closely with West Lothian Council and the Economic Development Team for a number of years and the recent grant support provided has helped us fast track the introduction of our new LED lighting system across our factory.

“This support has enabled us to run our factory more efficiently and help reduce our carbon footprint. We are an innovative, forward-thinking company, and the environment is at the heart of that and this project has supported us on our journey towards net zero.”
