Leading UK digital project consultancy Waracle has agreed a deal to acquire HackSoft, a software development consultancy based in Sofia, Bulgaria. The acquisition marks a significant milestone in Waracle’s ambitious growth strategy, expanding its geographic footprint beyond the UK for the first time.

The acquisition of HackSoft provides Waracle with a strategic foothold in a key European tech hub, broadening its talent pool and enhancing its ability to deliver innovative solutions for its growing international client base.

It also bolsters Waracle’s expertise in digital product development across financial services, energy, health and the public sector with Hacksoft’s specialisms in product, web development and data services.

HackSoft first opened its doors 2017, and its 55-strong team has established a reputation for engineering excellence, an unrivalled culture, and a holistic approach to quality software development.

This acquisition follows a strong transformational year for Waracle, which is backed by growth capital investor BGF. In 2025, Waracle has grown its UK team to 210 people across its four offices in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee.

David Tuck, Waracle CEO, said: “Our growth plans are ambitious and a key part of our strategy has been to find a talented team with technical capabilities that complement our own.

“We worked with Hacksoft for several months on a strategic client engagement, so we know first-hand our cultures align – we share similar values based on fostering a strong, inclusive culture and are both committed to being a trusted partner for our clients.

“HackSoft’s culture, technical talent, commitment to open source, and its impressive track record with its training academy makes it a fantastic addition to the Waracle team.”

Radoslav Georgiev, HackSoft co-founder and CEO, commented: “Joining Waracle is an incredible opportunity for the HackSoft team. We have always aimed to be more than just developers; we strive to be true partners in our clients’ success. In Waracle, we have found a partner that not only shares our vision but can also provide a platform for greater growth and more complex, exciting challenges for our team. We are thrilled to begin this next chapter and expand our impact together.”

Mike Wharton, CTO and Founder at Waracle, said: “Waracle has been about doing great work with great people since day one. Working with HackSoft has been exceptional; they’re a dedicated team of talented engineers who truly care about their craft and their people. It’s a natural fit and a huge win for both our teams and our clients.”
