Up-and-coming surveyors from Scotland shortlisted for RICS Awards

Talented surveyors from Scotland are in the running for the RICS Matrics Surveyor Awards 2024, having been shortlisted for demonstrating excellence early in their careers.

The RICS Matrics Surveyor Awards, formerly Young Surveyor of the Year Awards, are back for their 11th year to showcase the exceptional talent within the surveying profession and celebrate the innovation and hard work of emerging professionals in the surveying industry.

The surveyors from Scotland shortlisted for the prestigious awards are:

  • Construction Surveyor of the Year: Christopher Kelso, AtkinsRéalis
  • Mentor of the Year: Lauren Ward, Mott MacDonald
  • Valuation Surveyor of the Year: Louisa Robertson, Savills UK Ltd
  • Mentor of the Year: Michael Armstrong, Currie & Brown UK Ltd

The awards are open to students, apprentices, candidates and members who have been qualified up to 10 years and showcase the successes of surveyors from various backgrounds, the awards provide visible and relatable role models for aspiring professionals.

Each shortlisted entrant will be considered in one of 10 category awards across various surveying disciplines including Sustainability Champion of the Year which is new to the awards this year to honour an individual with extraordinary commitment and dedication to integrating environmental sustainability principles into every aspect of surveying, serving as a beacon of inspiration for others in the industry.

The ultimate accolade of ‘RICS Matrics Surveyor of the Year’ title is awarded to the category winner who has shown extraordinary success in their career, but also demonstrates an unwavering commitment to inspire and support future talent, advancing the industry and wider surveying profession.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 15th November at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
