TLT has further grown its UK-wide banking and finance team with the appointment of Catharine MacDonald, who joins from Ashurst as legal director in Glasgow.

MacDonald will work alongside banking and finance partner Douglas Gourlay, who joined TLT in June 2018 as part of a major, ongoing expansion in Scotland.

Specialising in all types of corporate lending with particular expertise in loan portfolio acquisitions, MacDonald’s experience further enhances TLT’s UK-wide banking and finance offering and its work with the UK’s major banks and other financial institutions.

The appointment also adds to TLT’s strength and depth in supporting clients on a full range of banking needs, including acquisition and leveraged finance, asset backed and investment grade lending and infrastructure, clean energy, social housing and real estate projects.

Douglas Gourlay, banking and finance partner at TLT, says: “We’ve recognised a growing need from our clients for a UK-wide banking offering and a strong team on the ground in Scotland. Catharine’s appointment contributes to the continued growth of our banking and finance team across each of our locations. I’m really pleased to welcome her to the team at such an exciting time of significant growth and strong investment in Scotland.”

Catharine MacDonald, legal director at TLT, says: “I’m delighted to be joining such a successful firm, especially in a period of solid growth. TLT has significant ambitions in Scotland and I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the team to achieve this.”
