THE Massage Company, a multi-award-winning massage franchise, is set to launch ten centres in Scotland over the next three years, in partnership with Franchise&. The centres will bring The Massage Company’s unique membership-based massage therapy to Scotland for the first time and generate up to 300 jobs in the region.

The Massage Company was founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Charlie Thompson and Elliot Walker, with the goal of making massage more convenient, accessible and inclusive to people across the UK. With the UK facing a mental health and insomnia crisis, people are actively seeking therapies to feel better, stronger and more relaxed:  it’s no surprise, then, that massage is becoming increasingly popular. Thanks to The Massage Company’s monthly subscription model, people can now easily make massage a regular part of their self-care routine.

Franchise& have worked with the likes of German Doner Kebab and Heavenly Desserts, turning innovating and exciting franchises into household names. Working with brands and franchisees, they use their expertise in marketing, psychology, legal frameworks, and business modelling to help launch new franchises in the United Kingdom and internationally. Franchise& is a perfect fit with The Massage Company’s unique model and in-demand service.

For franchisees, The Massage Company offers an opportunity to become part of “the future of the high street”, joining a service-based subscription business with huge potential for growth. The Massage Company has an average member retention of over 12 months and has seen a steady rise in users since the first centre launched six years ago. There are two ways that franchisees can get involved: as a hands-on owner-operator, or a hands-off owner-investor. Either way, they will change lives in their local community while growing a sustainable business in a burgeoning sector.

The Massage Company Charlie Thompson commented: “It’s brilliant to have the opportunity to bring subscription massage to Scotland. We know what a positive impact massage can have on people’s physical and mental health, and we’re delighted to be able to reach so much further. Health and wellbeing are incredibly important for everyone, and we feel privileged to make massage part of people’s lifestyle. Like all treatments, massage is most effective when used regularly, and our subscription model helps our members maintain their routine and feel the benefits every day.”
