Letting agency expands into third Scottish city following major acquisition

Scottish agency Tay Letting is set for expansion into Dundee and its surrounding areas with the acquisition of Lickley Proctor Lettings.

Just two years after launching in Edinburgh,  the acquisition of Lickley Proctor adds more than 300 properties to Tay Letting’s growing portfolio, bringing the total properties managed by the company to more than 1,400.

Tay has seen significant growth in recent years, buoyed by the company’s strong retention rate and a flourishing investment arm, which has invested more than 100m for clients at home and abroad in Scottish property.

Just ten years after launching Tay Letting in Glasgow, founder Marc Taylor has been encouraged by Tay’s buoyant performance in Edinburgh led by Malcolm Pickard,  head of the company’s East Coast operations.

Lickley Proctor was established more than 125 years ago and manages properties in Angus, Tayside, Fife and beyond.

Marc Taylor said: “Lickley Proctor is an excellent business with a fantastic reputation in the city of Dundee.

“Our success in Glasgow, then Edinburgh, has been down to the excellent service we provide. I believe by providing that same high-quality service in Dundee, and building on Lickley Proctor’s reputation, there’s huge potential. “

Robert Murray, at Lickley Proctor’s, said: “It was absolutely vital we sold to a business who could maintain our high standards for customer service and our company’s values. We’re proud of what we built and were utterly convinced by Tay’s vision for the company, as well as shared values and a commitment to clients’ interests.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with Marc, Malcolm and the team,  and believe our clients will benefit from their quality of service, expertise, and processes.”

After securing its first acquisition. Tay Letting is expected to continue to source and target new opportunities.
