Hebrides Cruises, Scotland’s luxury wildlife small cruise operator has launched its first ‘foodie’ cruise, the ‘In Search of Seafood: A Gourmet Hebridean Cruise’ will sail the waters of the Inner Hebrides in spring 2025.

The four-night culinary adventure will depart from Oban on 12th April.  Guests will embark on a one-of-a-kind voyage to experience the finest provenance from the west coast waters, while enjoying breathtaking landscapes, wildlife adventures and Hebrides Cruises’ award-winning hospitality.

Hebrides Cruises offers a gourmet menu on board each of its cruises. It was recently shortlisted in the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards Best Food & Drink Tourism Experience category.  The new seafood cruise builds on the operator’s culinary track record by providing a niche experience for those keen to enjoy a sense of provenance and place.

The clear waters of the Inner Hebrides are renowned for the abundance of exceptional seafood, and the new cruise offers guests the opportunity to experience the freshest catches of the day, picked and presented on their dinner plates in the very place where they were caught.

Rob Barlow, owner of Hebrides Cruises and Skipper, regularly dives overboard for scallops. Guests will also experience freshly caught crab, langoustine, and lobster from the local fishing vessels. They will even have the chance to visit the locations on Mull where oysters and mussels are grown sustainably and pick them from the honesty boxes on shore.

April is an ideal time to enjoy brown trout and sea trout in the Hebrides and the crew will work with local fishermen to source the freshest catches for guests to enjoy on board the cruise.

Other locally sourced produce will be available on board, so non-seafood eaters can also enjoy a range of dining options suited to their personal preferences, taking into account any allergies.

William Rocks, Chef Patron at Tigh an Truish on the Isle of Seil and a previous Masterchef quarter-finalist, has been announced as the chef for the cruise. His local knowledge of the Hebrides and its produce, combined with a passion for seafood will provide guests with the most memorable dining experiences, served while anchored in serene sea lochs with a new scenic vista every day.

This amazing seafood extravaganza will take place while cruising through spectacular scenery.  As always, the crew will be looking out for wildlife, with dolphins, minke whales, porpoises, otters and red deer spotted regularly from the comfort of the ship, Emma Jane’s deck.

Hebrides Cruises’ one-off themed cruises sell quickly, with the company’s inaugural ‘In Search of Giants’ cruise exploring the whaling grounds west and north of Scotland, selling out within ten minutes.
