Susan McDonald appointed to new executive director of operations role at Kingdom

KINGDOM Housing Association has introduced a revised management structure across the Kingdom Group following a comprehensive organisational review.

Senior staff will head up the new service areas with existing Departmental Directors or Heads of Service retaining management responsibility for specific strategic areas of operations.

As part of the new structure an Executive Director of Operations post has been created, with overall responsibility for Customer Services, Development, Housing and Asset Management.

Freya Lees, Kingdom’s Chair said, “We received a number of very high calibre applications for this new post as part of our Senior Management Team and I’m delighted to announce that Susan McDonald has been appointed as our new Executive Director of Operations. Susan impressed the recruitment panel with her strategic experience, housing knowledge and her focused approach to customer services, which is consistent with our Values and I’m delighted to welcome her to Kingdom.”

Susan is currently Interim Director with Reidvale Housing Association, former Chair of Ore Valley Housing Association and previously a partner with Addleshaw Goddard Solicitors. Susan will start with Kingdom on 1 December 2021.

When asked about her appointment to the new post at Kingdom, Susan said, “I am delighted to be joining Kingdom Housing Association as part of their executive team at this exciting time  and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to deliver our strategic objectives.’’

Susan will become a member of the Executive Management Team at Kingdom, joining Bill Banks, Kingdom’s Group Chief Executive, and Ken Tudhope, who will become the Executive Director of Finance, with the overall responsibility for Finance and business development across the Kingdom Group. Norah Smith is the Executive Director of Kingdom Support and Care, a Kingdom Housing Association subsidiary, with full responsibility for delivery of the Groups care and support services.

Bill Banks, Group Chief Executive, welcomed Susan and said, ”Susan’s skills and experience will be particularly beneficial as part of our new structure and will greatly assist the further development and implementation of our corporate plan objectives over the next few years.”

Bill added, “It’s exciting times for Kingdom. We are going through a period of change and I’m delighted that Susan is joining our valued and experienced leadership team. I am confident Susan will bring many new ideas which will contribute to the delivery of our strategic objectives.”
