Superdry has chosen Caledonia Park in Gretna as the location for its first Superdry & Co outlet store in the UK, underlining Scotland’s growing clout as a destination for premium lifestyle brands. The new 4,500 sq ft unit sits within Railpen’s designer outlet village, which has been steadily curating a line‑up of fashion and lifestyle names aimed at tourists and domestic shoppers alike.retailgazette+3

Caledonia Park – located just over the border and serving passing motorway trade as well as day‑trippers from across Scotland and the north of England – has been billed as “Scotland’s premier designer outlet village” by landlord Railpen. For Superdry, the choice of Gretna gives the rebadged Superdry & Co concept instant access to a high‑footfall site that already trades heavily on value‑driven designer and high‑street fashion.

The outlet has been deliberately positioned as a showcase for Superdry’s latest brand repositioning, which leans into “premium, refined British lifestyle and preppy heritage apparel”. Across men’s and women’s collections, the store revisits heritage garments, from the brand’s hallmark outerwear to elevated jersey, shirting and denim, with the outlet format offering these lines at sharper price points.

Alex Luker, senior asset manager at Railpen, said: “The launch of Superdry & Co’s first outlet store at Caledonia Park speaks volumes about the strength of the destination, and the strategic appeal it holds for global brands.

“We have access to a significant catchment, making Caledonia Park a key place for premium retailers to be. This launch is a clear reflection of our proactive leasing strategy and our commitment to delivering something fresh and new for our visitors.”

Superdry signalled that the & Co outlet concept is designed to crystallise its refreshed identity for UK shoppers, using Gretna as a testbed for the evolved offer. A spokesperson described the move as “the latest investment in our evolution, with the store focusing on premium British lifestyle and heritage pieces that still feel accessible for outlet customers.”

Railpen highlighted the significance of landing Superdry’s first outlet under the new branding, calling it “a strong endorsement of Caledonia Park’s draw for fashion‑conscious visitors who expect both quality and value from a day out in Gretna”. The landlord added that the store “strengthens the village’s appeal as a go‑to stop for modern British lifestyle labels on the Scottish retail map.”

The opening drops into a competitive Scottish outlet landscape where Caledonia Park is vying with schemes such as Livingston’s The Centre and other regional fashion destinations for share of discretionary spend. By securing the first and only Superdry & Co outlet in the UK, Gretna nudges itself higher up the itinerary for cross‑border shoppers planning a stopover around value fashion, food and leisure.

For Scottish consumers, the launch delivers expanded access to Superdry’s updated lifestyle collections at outlet pricing, while for Superdry it offers a live read on how its rebrand lands with a mix of local and tourist traffic. If the Gretna experiment performs, retail watchers expect the & Co outlet concept to be replicated in other UK locations, with Caledonia Park retaining first‑mover bragging rights.
