GB Energy will own, manage, and operate clean power projects, collaborating with the private sector, local authorities, and communities.

The initiative focuses on investing in cutting-edge technologies such as green hydrogen, tidal energy, and floating offshore wind, while also expanding established technologies like wind farms.A key component of GB Energy is the Local Power Plan, which seeks to develop up to 8 GW of energy through community-led projects.

The initiative aims to partner with local councils throughout the UK and reinvest profits into communities. A key feature of the concept is that the benefits of renewable energy are felt at the grassroots level.

The initiative aims to quadruple solar power capacity and significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels, potentially lowering annual energy bills by up to £300 per household.

Additionally, GB Energy is expected to create approximately 200,000 new jobs nationwide, boosting employment in the green energy sector while enhancing energy security.
