A GLASGOW-BASED industrial supplies specialist has made a £250,000 investment to help Scottish businesses prepare for winter.
Specialist Industrial Supplies (SIS), which has a physical store on Springburn’s Petershill Road, has now launched a new e-commerce site, while also investing in additional staff, stock, machinery, and warehouse space.
The investment follows six months of continuous operations, despite the challenges of the pandemic, with SIS selling more than 5,000 facemasks in just six months, dispatched to everywhere from Bearsden to Beijing. The challenges have also increased supplies costs across the whole industry. Despite this, SIS has kept costs consistent to ensure its customers are not at a disadvantage and continue operating in difficult conditions.
SIS have kept on top of increased demands for PPE during the pandemic, managing to maintain a regular supply of latex gloves, sanitiser, face shields, disposable coveralls and many more essential products. The Glasgow business has also invested in a new colour printer and other branding tools to keep up with the demand of businesses who wish to protect their staff with the issue of company-branded snoods and washable branded face coverings.
