Silverburn, Glasgow’s leading retail and leisure destination, is celebrating a string of prestigious accolades, having been named Shopping Complex of the Year at the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2025, alongside a series of major wins for its security team.

At the Scottish Hospitality Awards, which recognises excellence across the country’s hospitality sector, Silverburn was awarded first place in a highly competitive category of top retail destinations including Glasgow Fort, St James Quarter and more.

This success builds on an impressive performance at the BSIA (British Security Industry Association) Regional (Scotland) Awards 2025, where Silverburn’s security team, employed by SecuriGroup, took home three major accolades.

The team was named Best Team for the second year running, recognising their outstanding vigilance, innovative training initiatives and strong partnership with Police Scotland. The entire security team, led by Security Manager Darren McNally, works tirelessly to create a safe, welcoming environment for the millions of guests who visit Silverburn each year.

Alongside the team’s success, individual members were also honoured for their exceptional contributions. Anthony McGovern was recognised with the Outstanding Act award for his life-saving intervention when assisting a vulnerable guest in distress, demonstrating unparalleled empathy and professionalism.

Thomas Deeley was awarded Customer Service Champion, acknowledging his 16 years of consistently excellent service and his leadership in driving operational improvements and mentoring new team members. The team went on to represent Scotland at the national British Security Awards in London, where Thomas Deeley achieved further success as Runner-Up in the Customer Experience Champion category – a remarkable achievement at UK level.

Lori Cracovschi also earned industry recognition, having been shortlisted for Security Industry Woman of the Year at the Fire and Security Matters Awards. Since joining Silverburn in 2022, Lori has quickly progressed within the business, taking on increasing responsibility while building strong relationships with guests, retailers and service partners.

David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, said: “Winning Shopping Complex of the Year at the Scottish Hospitality Awards is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the experience we strive to deliver every day at Silverburn. The safety and enjoyment of our guests and staff is always a top priority, and it’s thanks to the dedication of our exceptional team that we can create a fun, inclusive and relaxed environment for all of our guests to enjoy.

“To see our security team recognised at the BSIA Regional Awards for the second year running, alongside individual honours for Thomas and Anthony, is a tremendous accomplishment. These awards are among the highest accolades in our industry and reflect the real impact our team makes every single day. I am extremely proud of them all.”
