TOTAL information management company, Shredall SDS Group, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month, recognising years of partnering with businesses across the UK to store and dispose of their confidential documents.
Shredall SDS Group is marking the occasion by donating £2,500 to a Scottish charity to be chosen by its employees. Staff were also treated to an afternoon of drinks and food to toast the Group’s recent success, with the company reporting a 25% increase in turnover last year.
The family-run firm was originally founded by Lloyd Williams in 1997 and offered confidential shredding services to businesses. It has since branched out into document storage, data destruction, document scanning, document indexing, recycling and more recently launched its sister company, Loft Self Storage – due to the instant popularity of this self storage offering, the Group has just purchased an additional 20 storage containers.
In the past few years, the company has opened a depot in Lanarkshire as well as offices in Edinburgh, Birmingham, and London. An established presence in Scotland, the firm supported COP26 by recycling volunteers’ uniforms.
Shredall SDS Group has focused on technological development over the past few months. Responding to increased customer demand, it has invested heavily in new technology: in early February 2022, an industrial-sized Vecoplan shredding machine was installed, tripling the company’s previous output.
The Group has also recently completed a full re-racking of archives to hold over 7 million additional documents and built two new high-security storage vaults with constant temperature and humidity controls, cementing its position as a leading information management provider.
In addition to its cutting-edge technology, Shredall SDS Group has become known for its commitment to excellent customer service. In the run-up to its 25th anniversary, the company has been recognised with the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award 2022, having maintained an excellent average customer rating of 4.5 out of 5 for over three years.
“For a business that started from just one man and a van to reach 25 years is amazing,” said Nik Williams, managing director of Shredall SDS Group. “Shredall SDS Group still has many of the same customers from 25 years ago and we are very grateful for their loyalty. The success of the past and our positive trajectory promise a great future for the Group.
Lucy Shipley, group director, commented: “Our ability to adapt to market changes is the key to our success. We’ve faced the gradual shift towards a ‘paper light’ generation and view digital solutions as the future of document management. We also support the circular economy, partnering with sustainability-focused events such as COP26 and earning the title of Paper Recycling Business of the Year 2021.”
