Shelter Scotland’s Sustainable September Campaign/Workshop

05/09/2023

SHELTER Scotland is on a mission to encourage more people to discover the joys of shopping second-hand and extending the life of clothes this September. Right on time with Sustainable Fashion Week, Shelter Scotland’s new Resale Therapy campaign involves influencers spreading the word online and in-store, all in aid of Shelter Scotland’s aims in the fight against the housing emergency.

‘Resale Therapy’ will promote preloved shopping and donating as an antidote to fast fashion. To help people make more conscious fashion choices this September, Shelter Scotland is running a “clothing clinic” hosted by designer Conor Blessing (@condog200) and Ros Williams at their Motherwell store on 16th September. Please see the attached release for the details on these workshops, where consumers can receive upcycling and mending tips.

Whenever you shop with Shelter, all profits support the essential work to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. On September 30th 2022 there were 28,944 live homelessness cases in Scotland, which is the highest number on record and up 11% compared to the previous year.

By donating to and shopping at Shelter Scotland’s charity shops, conscious consumers can support the charity’s frontline services to continue providing free and expert help to anyone facing homelessness, as well as helping to campaign for lasting change.
