Scullion LAW has been awarded the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award, the highest level of recognition for employers that provide exceptional support to the armed forces community.

Scullion LAW joins a select group of organisations acknowledged for their commitment to supporting serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families. The award was formally presented at a black-tie ceremony at Edinburgh Castle on 6 November, attended by founder Nicholas Scullion, who accepted the accolade on behalf of the firm.

The Gold Award recognises employers that demonstrate exemplary advocacy for the defence community, including through flexible working arrangements, supportive employment policies, and public commitment to the values upheld by service personnel.

“We’re absolutely delighted to receive the ERS Gold Award,” said Nicholas Scullion, Managing Director. “It represents years of effort and commitment from everyone at Scullion LAW as we’ve worked our way from Bronze through Silver and now to Gold. We’re proud to be an employer of choice that supports our people and the armed services. Scullion LAW will continue to build a workplace where the selflessness, sacrifice and dedication of those who serve is recognised and supported. It is the very least that we can do for them, considering all that they do for us.”

Scullion LAW offers practical and sustained support for serving personnel and veterans, including additional leave for training commitments, flexible working, and an internal culture built on leadership, resilience, and service. These principles underpin the firm’s wider operations and are reflected in the quality of service delivered to clients.

This national recognition further reinforces Scullion LAW’s position as one of Scotland’s leading values-driven law firms, committed to integrity, excellence, and its role within the communities it serves.

Scullion LAW’s progression from Bronze to Silver and now to Gold has been driven by Associate Director and Army Reservist Stephanie Grieve, whose leadership has strengthened the firm’s support for reservists and the wider military community.

“The principles behind ERS Gold are universal,” says Stephanie. “When you care about your people, you strengthen your service. When you lead with integrity, clients feel it. This award proves that the standards we hold internally directly shape the quality of the work we do for others.”

The recognition follows a period of growth and continued success for Scullion LAW, reinforcing its position as one of Scotland’s most trusted and values-led legal firms.
