The Scottish SPCA has issued an appeal to animal lovers to donate both blankets and toys to their Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The centre, which is located in Hamilton, is on the hunt for blankets and toys for dogs and cats in their care.

As the temperature drops in the run up to winter the centre is looking to replenish its dog blankets. It’s also looking to stock up on cat toys, which are vital for enrichment and fun.

Manager of the centre, Gillian Boyle, said: “Now we are heading into the winter months, Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre (ARRC) are looking to replenish our stock of dog blankets to ensure all the dogs are kept cosy and warm over the coming months.

“Cats toys are vital for enrichment and they also provide crucial physical and mental exercise. Play is essential for the cats in our care as it can reduce boredom and stress, as well as allowing the cats to share fun and positive experiences with their carer.”

Items can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wish list here or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery to the centre. Blankets and toys can also be dropped into the centre reception daily between 1pm and 4pm at Scottish SPCA Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre on Bothwell Road, Hamilton, ML3 0SB.
