A FIRST-of-its-kind event, drawing businesspeople from every corner of the country, is set to take up residence in the Highlands this month.

The Scottish Growth Gathering and Highland Expo is a 24-hour conference and exhibition taking place at Macdonald Aviemore Resort, against the backdrop of the Cairngorms National Park, on February 26-27.

Created by Aberdeen-based Granite PR, the inaugural event is expected to attract 40-plus exhibitors and more than 200 delegates.

The premium package, available for £299 plus VAT per person, includes an overnight stay (check-in from 3pm) with Scottish breakfast at Macdonald Aviemore Resort to allow guests to experience the resort, including full access to the leisure facilities and Spey Valley designer shopping.

It also entitles delegates to a welcome drinks reception (6pm-7pm) and three-course networking dinner (7pm-10pm) in the Peregrine Suite, including a talk from renowned broadcaster and writer Cameron MacNeish. This is followed by an invitation to the next morning’s conference featuring several motivational speakers (10am-11:30am), refreshments and an exhibition stand in the Osprey Arena (11:30am-4pm).

Additional speakers confirmed to date include Richard Bath of Scottish Field, Nicola McAlley of STV, Mark Tate of the Cairngorms Business Partnership and Adam Bell of Moment Agencies.

Brett Jackson, event creator and managing director at Granite PR, said: “We are pleased to unveil these exciting plans for the first ever Scottish Growth Gathering and Highland Expo and give companies from across Scotland the opportunity to network, cross-sell and build relationships with one another in a unique setting.

“On the back of a decade of successful business networking events organised by Granite PR, this latest addition will allow businesses to plan ahead for growth throughout 2020 and beyond.”

Iain Miller, managing director at Macdonald Aviemore Resort, added: “Macdonald Aviemore Resort has a proud tradition of supporting and delivering first-class conferences and related business events. We are looking forward to welcoming a diverse audience to experience the resort first-hand and benefit from the hospitality on offer.”
