Organic artisan cheese producer Connage Highland Dairy has once again been recognised for its produce, winning ‘Best Scottish Cheese’ at the Artisan Cheese Awards, part of the UK’s biggest cheese fair.

The Artisan Cheese Fair took place in Leicestershire earlier this month. With around 10,000 attendees, those there on the day were able to buy and sample cheeses from over 60 cheesemakers.

The awards ceremony and dinner followed the fair on Saturday night at St Mary’s Church in Melton Mowbray, with over 70 cheese producers recognised for their produce.

Connage Highland Dairy won the ‘Best Scottish Cheese’ award for their aged Gouda, and also came runners up in the ‘Best Organic Cheese’ category for their Connage Dunlop.

Jill and Callum Clark are no strangers to awards ceremonies, having won at the Artisan Cheese Awards in 2018.

Jill had the following to say about their success:

“We were absolutely thrilled to win the Best Scottish Cheese category, and come runner up in the Best Organic category too. With so many brilliant cheese producers across the UK, it’s such a compliment to all the hard work that goes in to making the cheeses at Connage.

“Callum and I had a fantastic time at the Artisan Cheese Awards. It’s always good to meet up with other like-minded cheese producers and to celebrate the wonderful products from around the country!”
