On Tuesday 4 March 2025, during global B Corp Month, Scotland’s first-ever festival of B Corps and purpose-led businesses will take place in Edinburgh. The event will bring together some of Scotland’s top innovative business leaders, in an effort to challenge the way we do business and solve the big social, economic and environmental challenges of our time.

The event is hosted by B Local Scotland, a passionate, volunteer-led community of Scottish B Corp leaders, and supported by B Lab UK, the UK arm of the non-profit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet. The festival’s agenda will include interactive workshops, minimal powerpoint presentations, and is packed with opportunities to connect with Scotland’s major industry representatives and policymakers. Best-selling author John Blakey will headline the event, alongside Co-Founder of the Better Business Act and Executive Director of B Lab UK, Chris Turner.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr. John Blakey, Olympic coach, CEO and global authority on trust and purpose-led leadership will set the tone for the day with an inspiring keynote.
  • Amy Clark, Founder of Tribe Impact Capital LLP on redefining investment for good.
  • Alan Mahon, Founder of Brewgooder about how he is changing lives, one beer at a time.
  • Kat Brogan, Managing Director of Mercat Tours who will lead an interactive walking tour of Edinburgh alongside a workshop on purpose in action.
  • Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK will discuss the driving force behind the UK B Corp movement.

Open to all, this festival will reach beyond B Corp, shining a spotlight on the wider movement of businesses striving to embed purpose into their operations. It will be a bold reminder that building a fairer, greener Scotland isn’t just possible, it’s already happening.

Chris Turner, Executive Director at B Lab UK, the non-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement in the UK, said “We’re delighted to support B Local Scotland in the organisation of what we know will be a fantastic event. This festival will play an important role in shaping the better business landscape in Scotland by bringing together Scottish political and industry stakeholders with innovative B Corps. It is initiatives such as these that are essential to our mission to create an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.”

Nathalie Agnew, one of the volunteers organising the event and Managing Director at Muckle Media, Scotland’s first PR agency to certify as a B Corp, said “Last year B Lab UK hosted Louder Than Words in Oxford, bringing together over 2,000 organisations to discuss doing business with a purpose. While attending the event, I felt there was a real need and opportunity to bring something, of a smaller scale, to Scotland so I’m really excited we’ll be hosting our event in March at the Scotsman Hotel.”

Tickets are now on sale with early bird pricing available until 31st January 2025.
