International real estate advisor Savills has advised Lookers on the sale of 262 Maryhill Road, a former JLR/Lookers car showroom in Maryhill, Glasgow, to a private buyer for an undisclosed price.

The 2.54 acre (1.03 hectare) site provides approximately 49,621 sq ft of accommodation and comprised a split-level showroom fronting Maryhill Road, together with a detached vehicle workshop and former valet bay.

The site occupies a prominent corner position at the junction of Maryhill Road and Hopehill Road, immediately north of Glasgow city centre with the surrounding area including a mix of residential, retail and light industrial uses.

The property benefits from good connectivity, with Junctions 17 and 18 of the M8 motorway within easy reach and Glasgow International Airport approximately 9.5 miles to the west.

Jonathon Webster, Associate Director, Savills Glasgow, says: “We are pleased to have completed the sale of this unique opportunity in Maryhill. Its substantial frontage, existing accommodation and accessible location generated strong interest from prospective buyers, reflecting continued demand for well-located opportunities in Glasgow.

“The site attracted a wide range of users when brought to the market earlier this year, including retail, automotive and residential interest. Due to the high level of prospective buyers, the property was put to a closing date and 13 offers were received for the asset.”
