Top 15 accountancy and business advisory firm Saffery has expanded its Scottish tax capability with the appointment of four senior specialists across its Edinburgh and Inverness offices.
The new hires bolster the firm’s expertise in both corporate tax and professional partnerships, as businesses across Scotland navigate an increasingly complex tax landscape.
Emma Siegel joins Saffery’s Edinburgh office as a corporate tax director from Forvis Mazars. With more than a decade of experience, she advises owner-managed businesses and large corporate groups on UK corporation tax, including transactions, reorganisations and succession planning.
Also joining the Edinburgh team is Susan Pattison, formerly of Henderson Loggie, who takes on the role of corporate tax senior manager. Pattison specialises in advising charities and cultural organisations, with a focus on corporate tax and cultural tax reliefs such as Museums & Galleries and Theatre Tax Reliefs. Her work also includes guidance on charitable trading, Gift Aid and tax-efficient structures to help organisations maximise funding and reinvest in their activities.
Patricia Bell has also been appointed as a tax senior manager in Edinburgh, joining from Ashurst LLP where she spent seven years as part of the in-house tax team. A member of the personal tax team, she focuses on tax compliance for partnerships and their partners, alongside expertise in tax reserving, high-net-worth tax compliance, pension planning and capital gains tax.
In Inverness, Lois Tack joins as a corporate tax senior manager from Azets. She brings significant experience advising on R&D tax relief and Patent Box regimes, alongside a broad range of corporate tax matters for clients spanning owner-managed businesses to large corporate groups.
