The tills are ringing out this Christmas at The Centre, Livingston, as shoppers flock to the mall, which is one of the largest in Scotland, to snap up some last minute gifts and bargains in the early sales.

People travelled from across the country to enjoy a day out shopping centre, which has over 150 stores including Flannels, M&S, The Entertainer and River Island and eateries like wagamama and Nando’s, taking advantage of lots of discounted items like video games, books, winter warmers and perfumes.

For those who caught the attention of the management team who were spreading some festive cheer, their day was made even better with a surprise £25 Gift Card to buy themselves something nice.

Many shoppers were still ticking off their presents list and snapping up some great last minute finds and others were treating themselves to everything from sleepwear and ‘me time’ pampering goodies at Lush and Rituals to jewellery and gym gear to help get their New Year fitness resolutions off to a good start.

Popular gift items this year for kids, include Play-Doh Rainbow Swirl Ice Cream Playset and Original Squishmallows Squish-a-Longs, pack of 14 collectible figures which is the latest addition to the Squishmallows family.

At the top of Santa’s wish lists for fragrances is the timeless classic Chanel No. 5 Eau de Parfum and J’adore Eau de Parfum and the best-selling aftershaves include Versace Dylan Blue and Dior Sauvage Eau de Toilette.

The must-have game for some family Christmas day fun is Monopoly Knockout, which is the active, physical version of the original game.

Shoppers from Lanark, Alice Faulkner, a radio presenter and Fraser Prentice, an engineer, were just some of the shoppers who received a Gift Card from the shopping centre team.

Alice said: “What a lovely surprise to get a £25 Gift Card from the team at The Centre, Livingston, especially so close to Christmas.

“We love visiting the shopping centre which always seems to have everything we need and today was no different – we’ve actually managed to get all of our last bits and pieces, including a bath robe and wrapping paper from M&S and a pamper treat for myself at Lush.”

Patrick Robbertze, Centre Director at The Centre, Livingston, said: “It was great to be able to surprise some of our shoppers with a Gift Card to treat themselves and find out about their exciting Christmas plans.

“There was a great buzz in the shopping centre especially for visitors who managed to pick up some great bargains in the sales.”
