THE Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has announced Richard Burnett FRICS, director at Montana Management, as the new chair of the RICS Scotland board.

Mr Burnett, who has more than 35 years’ experience as a general practice management surveyor takes over the role from John Edwards.

He said: “It is an immense honour and privilege to be assuming the chair of the RICS Board in Scotland at this extremely tumultuous time.

“I must pay credit to my predecessor – John Edwards – who has had the difficult task of chairing RICS in Scotland through the pandemic.

“My focus for the year ahead will be to assist all sectors of our profession as they emerge from the pandemic restrictions. Many members have experienced hardships, and it is important that the board in Scotland, and all at RICS are there to give support as required.”
