Enviromena, a UK-based solar and energy storage developer, has successfully secured an £825 million senior portfolio financing package, marking one of the largest solar sector financings in the United Kingdom this year. This substantial capital injection is earmarked to accelerate the development and delivery of the company’s national portfolio of renewable energy projects.

The comprehensive financing facility is underwritten by a syndicate of leading financial institutions, including BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB), Lloyds, NatWest, and Societe Generale. An initial commitment of £525 million has been provided, supplying immediate capital to support the rapid deployment of a 1GW solar pipeline across the UK. The overall package is structured as a flexible platform, incorporating a £300 million uncommitted accordion, which will allow for expansion as projects transition from late-stage development through construction and into operation.

Chris Marsh, Chief Executive of Berkshire-based Enviromena, commented on the significance of the deal, stating:

“This is a landmark transaction for our business and demonstrates strong momentum in our growth strategy. With this support, we are accelerating the transition from development to delivery, building a gigawatt-scale solar platform to supply homes, businesses, and support the UK’s energy transition. Importantly, this investment contributes directly to the UK’s net zero goals and the urgent need to scale low-carbon energy solutions. Rapid deployment of large-scale solar will be essential to meeting national targets, enhancing energy security, and reducing long-term costs for consumers.”

Enviromena focuses on developing, building, and operating large-scale solar and battery storage projects across the UK and Europe. The firm currently boasts a development pipeline exceeding 3GW.

The UK’s solar capacity has seen considerable growth, with 2.6 GW added in 2025, bringing the total to 21.6 GW. The national grid’s solar pipeline currently includes over 32 GW in potential development.

Romain Py, a Partner at Enviromena’s parent company, Arjun Infrastructure Partners, highlighted the long-standing relationship and future prospects. “We’ve been supporting Enviromena since 2017, a period in which the business has evolved into a national leader in renewable energy. This new financing package will enable the firm to continue its impressive growth trajectory.”

Perella Weinberg served as the exclusive financial adviser to Enviromena for the transaction. Legal counsel was provided by Travers Smith, acting as borrower counsel, and Eversheds Sutherland, advising the lenders.
