Recruitment technology start-up, Willo, has announced the formation of its board of directors.
Former Chief Digital Officer of Visa Europe, Dr Steve Perry, has been appointed as Chairman, while Managing Director at Search Consultancy, Peter Preston, and CEO of PSD Group Stefan Ciecierski, accept positions as Non-Executive Directors.
Willo, previously known as weeve, made the announcement ahead of the launch of its video screening recruitment platform later this year. The platform uses candidate video applications to show at a glance whether a person has the right soft skills and personality for a job, based on responses to a series of bespoke questions. In addition to reducing time-to-hire by up to one third, Willo collates the opinions of key hiring managers and offers live interview scheduling and insights.
Perry brings with him more than 25 years in leadership roles at Visa Europe including Head of Strategy, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Digital Officer. He also has extensive experience investing in and advising FinTech and data analytics start-ups and providing support and advice to private equity funds.
As managing director for one of the largest recruitment agencies in the UK, Preston offers more than 17 years’ experience in recruitment, learning & development, technology and software consultancy, and has supported both global brands and start-ups in the scaling up of their technology solutions.
Ciecierski boasts over 30 years in leadership roles across the global recruitment industry, alongside experience of holding CEO positions in both private and public companies. His expertise lies in founding and selling businesses, building management teams and returning strong shareholder returns, with a particular focus on cutting-edge technology.
Dr Steve Perry commented: “The recruitment process is changing rapidly as businesses increasingly focus on competence rather than experience, and there is a growing interest in being able to see and hear candidates early in the hiring cycle in order to assess their softer skills. We’re confident that the Willo platform will meet this demand and succeed in making video screening and interviewing part of the standard recruitment process.”
CEO of Willo, Euan Cameron, added: “The appointment of the board enhances and complements the business and speaks volumes about its potential. In addition to acting as mentors to Willo’s management team, the directors will provide support in securing investment and delivering on our growth objectives, so that Willo becomes an instrumental platform for the recruitment industry.”
Willo, which has already secured Innovation Grant Support from Scottish Enterprise and Growth Advisory Support from Business Glasgow, can be used by both in-house recruitment teams and agencies.
