AS SCOTLAND’S home of live entertainment, OVO Hydro, approaches 10 years of hosting some of the biggest stars in the business, the venue takes the number 2 spot in Pollstar’s Top Arena’s rankings announced this week. Following one of its busiest years yet, OVO Hydro is among internationally renowned o2 London and WizInk, Madrid, in the rankings, cementing its place as a world leading concert venue. Having celebrated their 1000th show at the weekend, the achievement comes as a strong statement of the venue’s success.

SEC Armadillo was also recognised in the Pollstar Rankings as it placed number three in the Top European Theatres alongside the likes of London’s Roundhouse and Royal Albert Hall. As the venue prepares to welcome Grammy-nominees Dream Theatre and Beth Hart, the position was earned as a result of Pollstar’s exclusive European Ticket Sales Charts.

Debbie McWilliam, Scottish Event Campus Director of Live Entertainment, said: “It is fantastic for both venues to achieve such high rankings internationally, recognised by an organisation like Pollstar. Ranking among top arenas and theatres is reflective of our clients who choose us, the incredible work of the SEC team who deliver world class shows at our venues, as well as the fans who turn out in huge numbers to make every performance at OVO Hydro and SEC Armadillo an unforgettable one.”
