THE NWH Group, one of the UK’s leading recycling companies, has struck up a partnership with Volvo to trial the cutting-edge Volvo FE electric HGV skip vehicle.
Ricky Ray, Compliance Director at The NWH Group, who leads the company’s sustainability strategy at board-level, said: “The NWH Group is committed to driving the transition to a cleaner, greener future. Our partnership with Volvo is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability, and this innovative electric HGV skip vehicle is just one part of our multifaceted approach to reducing our environmental impact.
“As a leading provider of waste management and environmental services, our ground-breaking partnership with Volvo to trial the new era of sustainable waste transportation is set to revolutionise the industry and showcases our sincere commitment to carbon reduction and environmental stewardship.”
The remarkable electric HGV combines pioneering technology with eco-conscious design. It is equipped with multi-lift skip loader bodywork and powered by two electric motors that deliver a peak torque of 850 Nm.
In addition to the Volvo FE Electric trial, NWH has also ordered an electric articulated vehicle which is set to be delivered later this year. This new addition to the fleet will facilitate efficient waste transportation with zero emissions, aligning perfectly with the company’s sustainability goals.
As part of its comprehensive sustainability strategy, which underscores dedication to minimising carbon footprint and combatting climate change, NWH already successfully transitioned all sales team company cars to electric during 2022.
