Æge Energy, a specialist ‘one-stop shop’ provider of high-voltage grid connection solutions, has taken a major step in its international growth with the opening of a new operational base in Stirling. This marks a significant milestone for the company as it strengthens its UK presence and deepens its commitment to supporting the country’s growing renewable energy sector.

The new UK headquarters is located at WorKing Flexispaces, a dynamic workspace featuring 13 private offices and a 14-desk coworking hub, all housed within the beautifully restored former Bank of Scotland buildings on King Street in the heart of Stirling.

To mark the occasion, the Lord Provost of Stirling officially opened the new office, cutting the ribbon in a ceremony attended by key team members from Æge Energy’s headquarters in Norway. The event brought together local partners, clients, and associates, including Affric Limited, to celebrate the expansion and discuss ongoing and future collaboration.

This investment in the UK comes at a pivotal time, as Æge Group executives prepare to engage with industry leaders at All-Energy Exhibition at the SEC Glasgow on 14–15 May 2025, the UK’s largest renewable energy conference. The event will serve as a platform for showcasing Æge’s expertise in grid connection, electrical engineering, project management, and operational support across the renewable energy landscape.

Ole Kristian Jacobsen, CEO of Æge Group (Bergen, Norway), expressed enthusiasm for the company’s latest milestone:

“Scotland is at the forefront of the renewable energy transition and establishing our UK and Ireland base in Stirling places us at the heart of this movement. I really enjoyed visiting Stirling to welcome our growing team and associates and look forward to engaging with partners at All-Energy in Glasgow again this May. This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how Æge Energy can drive innovation in the sector.”

The new Stirling base brings together a growing team of Grid, Electrical and Power Systems Specialists, alongside Project and Operations Managers, who have previously supported UK projects remotely. The expansion allows for stronger collaboration, faster delivery, and increased visibility across the UK and Irish markets.

Richard Blanchfield, Managing Director of Æge Energy UK & Ireland, highlighted the impact of the move: “Having a central location in Stirling enhances our ability to collaborate more effectively, improve project delivery and scale up our operations. With rapid advancements in the sector, we are actively recruiting new talent and skilled professionals to support our expanding portfolio.”

The move has been welcomed by WorKing Flexispaces, whose flexible workspaces support growth-focused businesses.

Neil Munday, Managing Director at WorKing Flexispaces, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Æge Energy UK to our business community in Stirling. We aim to support innovative companies with high-quality office space that fosters collaboration and growth. Æge Energy UK’s decision to base itself here highlights Stirling’s appeal as a prime location for forward-thinking businesses. Additionally, our sister company, King Street Aparthotel, located within the same building, will offer an ideal accommodation solution for colleagues and associates visiting the UK office – who we look forward to welcoming.”

Stirling Council has recognised the significance of Æge Energy UK’s presence in Stirling.

Cllr Jen Preston, Stirling Council Depute Leader said: “We have been working closely with Æge Energy UK and WorKing Flexispaces for several months, and we are delighted to see this investment materialise.

“Stirling is home to many sustainability organisations of national significance and is recognised as a leader in environmental innovation.

“Stirling has one of the fastest-growing economies in the UK helped by its embrace of innovation across a number of sectors. We are committed to strengthening the skills and expertise on offer across Stirling and are thrilled the Æge Group has chosen to open its first UK base here.”

Fiona Henderson, Managing Director at Affric Limited, noted the benefits of Æge Energy UK’s centrally located base: “The hot desking availability and meeting space in the WorKing Flexispaces office will facilitate the collaborative delivery of projects. Affric are looking forward to providing the environmental and consenting input to the one stop shop service offered by Æge”.

With a new base in Stirling and a strong presence at All-Energy 2025, Æge Energy UK is well-positioned to contribute to the UK’s green energy ambitions, delivering innovative solutions that support a cleaner, more sustainable future.
