RAPIDLY-expanding Scottish IT pioneer Redspire has turned to innovative Scottish technology recruitment specialist Nine Twenty as it seeks out top talent from across the UK to maintain and accelerate its growth trajectory.

The Glasgow-based Microsoft Gold Partner has seen a substantial 50% growth over the past year with further growth anticipated this year. It recently announced a 39% increase in sales despite Covid-related business interruptions.

Nine Twenty, which has also had a remarkable year of growth despite last spring’s shutdown, sourced 18 people for Redspire in the last quarter of 2020. It has just placed another two and has nine live hires for Q1 this year.

Redspire’s growth has foundations in an exceptionally close working relationship with Microsoft and recent headline contract wins include a strategic FinTech partnership with Virgin Money as the bank develops its Working Capital Health proposition.

Chris Lowden, Director of Technology at Nine Twenty, said: “Redspire has actually been helped by the effects of the pandemic, with the growing acceptance that people can effectively work from anywhere.

“While previously we would have concentrated on identifying Scottish-based talent for the company, we are now widening our headhunting into the rest of the UK and, indeed, have just placed someone who is located in London.

“Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a very niche skill set and with the new ways of working coming into play for everyone in 2020 the talent pool has widened quite significantly enabling us to cast the net across the UK.”

Nine Twenty, which took a strategic decision four years ago to focus on verticals, or business niches, is placing staff with Redspire. Roles include senior consultants – both functional and technical – developers, testers and project managers. It is also placing highly-skilled technical architects as well as marketing personnel.

Billy Lyle, Managing Director at Redspire, said: “Nine Twenty has fulfilled its promise as a fast, proactive, results-driven business which has provided us with an extremely satisfactory service at a time when we have a laser-focus on growth and talent acquisition.”
