Scottish companies with between 51 and 250 employees are being urged to showcase their success by entering the Business of the Year Awards.

Judges are looking for businesses with sustained growth or those that have achieved a step-change in their performance. Other factors – such as disrupting their sector, entering new markets, investing in innovation, and strong employee engagement – will be crucial.

Peter Walker, editor of TheBusinessDesk Scotland, said: “We’re interested in hearing from Scottish businesses that are scaling successfully.

“This can take many different forms and we’re open to those from across the country geographically and in any industry.”

TheBusinessDesk.com has launched the Scotland Business of the Year Awards to recognise the country’s most successful and ambitious businesses. The awards are now open for entries, with a deadline of Friday, 16 January.

Entries are now open for 13 categories, including fast-growth businesses, international trade, investment and employers. There will also be two individual awards, for chief executive of the year and ambassador.

To enter, visit businessoftheyearawards.co.uk or email [email protected].

Entries are free and the awards will have a rigorous judging process.

Site visits will take place in February and March, with shortlisted companies invited to pitch to judges in May, before the winners are revealed at a black-tie awards evening in June.

The awards are being supported by Daily Business Group and TheBusinessGrid.

TheBusinessDesk.com already runs Business of the Year awards in five English regions, with recent winners including Lloyds Bank, Morrisons and Rigby Group.
