Reach plc’s Scottish titles, including the Daily Record, Glasgow Live, Sunday Mail, and the Scottish Daily Express, are set to embark on a new chapter as they relocate to a modern office space in Glasgow’s city centre.
The move to 55 Douglas Street marks a strategic shift for the media company, emphasizing the benefits of consolidating its connected businesses under one roof. The new 14,298 sq ft workspace, secured on a 10-year lease, offers a prime location in Glasgow’s Central Business District. This relocation brings together various print and digital mastheads, fostering increased collaboration and synergy among the different teams.
By housing multiple titles in a single, high-quality office, Reach plc aims to enhance communication, streamline operations, and promote cross-platform content creation. The Grade A office space at 55 Douglas Street boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including a fitness studio, ample cycle racks, and high-end shower facilities. These features not only cater to the wellbeing of staff but also align with modern workplace trends, potentially boosting employee satisfaction and productivity.
David Dick, editor in chief of the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail, expressed enthusiasm about the move when speaking to the National: “This is the start of a new era for the teams at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail who will be joined by the Scottish Daily Express, Glasgow Live and journalists from many of our other print and digital mastheads. We look forward to building a fantastic future for our news brands in our new city centre home.”
