ARGYLL Holidays has unveiled plans for a £1.5million investment in new accommodation at its park on the banks of Loch Eck.

The leading Scottish holiday brand, which was acquired by Cove UK in February, is to build six new pods at Stratheck Holiday Park, which is set in a stunning mountainside location a short drive from Dunoon.

Named The Hot Tub Forest Pods, each lodge can sleep up to four people and offers high end self-contained accommodation with a range of amenities including fully equipped kitchens, double glazing and central heating, flat screen TVs, private parking as well as the all-important hot tubs.

As well as the investment in the pods themselves, Argyll Holidays is to undertake high quality landscaping to ensure the quality of the accommodation is matched by its external surrounds.

Cove UK said demand for domestic holidays showed no signs of abating despite the return of foreign travel in 2022.

Gordon Walker, Operations Director at Cove UK, said: “The Hot Tub Forest Pods are a significant investment in our holiday park at Stratheck. We’re constantly looking for new opportunities to evolve our products and ensure we can attract holidaymakers looking for different types of breaks.”

“These lodges are of a really high specification and will be attractive to small groups, couples and families who want high end accommodation but also the flexibility of self-catering facilities. The backdrop to our accommodation and hot tubs is spectacular and is certain to be as popular as our parks around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.”

“Whilst there has been much attention on the foreign holiday market this year, appetite for our breaks in Scotland remains as strong as it ever has been. This latest investment is demand-led and we expect to be announcing further enhancements in future.”

Cove UK are being assisted by leading Glasgow-headquartered architects UNICK Consulting in the design and delivery of the new lodges and landscaping.

Allan Baillie, Director at UNICK Consulting Ltd, said: “Unick Consulting is excited to be working with Cove UK in designing and delivering six contemporary innovative holiday Pods at Stratheck Holiday Park, a location that boasts outstanding backdrops in all directions.”

“We are looking forward to working further with Cove and developing staycation venues that will set the bar for others to follow and continue to make magic memories for everyone.”

The new lodges are scheduled to open to holidaymakers in late-July 2022.
