LEGAL firm Blackadders has further strengthened its Rural Land and Business team with the appointment of a highly regarded expert in rural land law. Philip Buchan takes up the director role.
Originally from Angus, Philip specialises in the sale and acquisition of estates, forests, farms, salmon fishings and country houses and he advises clients on all aspects of countryside matters from water supply rights to diversification projects.
He joins Blackadders from Anderson Strathern and will be based in the Edinburgh office.

A member of the Agricultural Law Association (ALA), Philip has worked across a number of rural areas in Scotland. Starting his career in Dumfries & Galloway, he went on to work in Aberdeenshire and Moray and is now based in Pencaitland, by Haddington in East Lothian.
Philip advises landowners, farmers, conservationists and sporting enthusiasts and he has acted in a number of major Scottish acquisition deals, including commercials forests.

A keen cyclist, angler and golfer, Philip graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Bachelor of Law and the University of Edinburgh with a Diploma in Legal Practice.
